Alpha & Omega

Revelations 1:8  I am the Alpha and the Omega, says the Lord God, the one who is, who was and who is to come, the Almighty.

Jesus is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end.  The reference to Alpha and Omega is based on the reference to the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet.  We have already looked at Jesus as The Word.  It is interesting that from the alphabet we form words.  He is the only form of alphabet or communication basis which reaches God.  In order to get to God the Father, we have to go through Jesus His Word and His Son.  Hebrews 13:8 reminds us that: ‘Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and today and forever.’  He is immutable, from the beginning of time and for all time encompasses, even into eternity.  God is the absolute beginning and ending of everything.  Everything has its origin in him and everything will find its place for eternity through Him.  Isaiah put it: ‘Thus says the Lord, the King of Israel and his Redeemer, the Lord of hosts:  I am the first and I am the last; besides me there is no god’ (Isaiah 44:6).  There is no other beginning and no other end.
