Branch

Zechariah 6:12   Behold the man whose name is THE BRANCH.

Offspring or children as often regarded as branches.  Jesus is said to the Branch out of the root of Jesse.  Jesus was metaphorically called the Branch representing that His human nature came from the family of David, who was the son of Jesse.

Luke 1:78-79 speaks of the dayspring which signifies the branching.  ‘Through the tender mercy of our God, with which the Dayspring from on high has visited us; to give light to those who sit in darkness and the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.’

‘In the day the Branch of the LORD shall be beautiful and glorious; and the fruit of the earth shall be excellent and appealing for those of Israel who have escaped’ (Isaiah 4:2).  Jesus is our way of escape, our way to Righteousness.  Jesus was a true member of the human family of David, the true King of Israel.  And just like a mighty cedar, He continues to provide shelter, protection and nourishment for all families of mankind.
